Annual Book Drive for “Read Across Rowan and Cabarrus Counties” (RARCC)

Hello and thank you for your interest in Rowan-Cabarrus’ Read Across Rowan and Cabarrus Counties (RARCC).

RARCC is a partnership between the English Department of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC), Second Look Books (Harrisburg, NC), and elementary schools, like you, in Rowan and Cabarrus counties.

Through RARCC, student, staff, and faculty volunteers from Rowan-Cabarrus come and read to 2nd grade students; after reading, the volunteers will hand out gift-wrapped books that 2nd grade students are able to take home with them in honor of March being literacy month and of course, Dr. Seuss’ birthday (March 2nd). These visits last between 30 and 45 minutes and can be scheduled throughout the month of March. Elementary schools are able to dictate the day/time that Rowan-Cabarrus volunteers visit. We cannot wait to partner with you and look forward to it!
