Pre-Licensing

This is the required course you need in preparation to become a “provisional broker.”  This course covers basic real estate principles and practices, including real estate law, contracts, brokerage practices, financing, closing, valuation, fair housing, property management, taxation, and mathematics as well as other related topics.

Post Licensing Classes

The following three post-licensing classes all require the NC Real Estate Manual which can be ordered on the NC Real Estate Commission’s website. A provisional broker license is also required to take each of the following classes.

Broker Relationships

Provides post licensing instruction in broker relationships and responsibilities when working with residential sellers and buyers. Topics include agency relationships and duties, agency contracts and disclosure, and the practical aspects of working with residential buyers and sellers.

Contracts and Closing

Provides post licensing instruction in broker responsibilities relating to real estate sales contracts, contract procedures, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and closings. Topics include contract law concepts, residential sales contract preparation and procedures, closing procedures and closing statement preparation.

NC Laws, Rules and Legal Concepts

Provides post licensing instruction in various topics such as general North Carolina licensing requirements, brokerage compensation issues, the disciplinary process, specialized types of real estate, property management in NC, and miscellaneous NC laws and legal concepts.
