Cosmetology

The cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific and artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

The cosmetology instructor curriculum provides a course of study for learning the skills needed to teach the theory and practice of cosmetology as required by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts.

We encourage you to learn more about becoming a part of our international network of stylists and artists. Come meet our friendly licensed staff members and take a tour of our well-stocked classrooms and full-service salon labs. Once you see how we can help you in the pursuit of your cosmetology dreams, we know you will want to send us an application for admission to our programs.

Quick Facts
  • Makeup artists that work in film and television do not always have to make the actor or actress look their best. They are also responsible for making them appear older, younger, sick, or even deceased depending on the part they are playing.
  • The field of cosmetology has continued to advance since ancient times to being one of the most profitable in the world today.
  • The income that one earns as a cosmetologist can vary from $25,000 to $70,000 a year depending on where one works.
We teach everything there is to teach about beauty. We also teach introduction to small business management and sociology to round out the degree.

I think the College is fantastic and has one of the best programs for cosmetology. They have the right people in the right places to prepare you for the industry.  I definitely hire Rowan-Cabarrus graduates.  If I see a resume from a Rowan-Cabarrus graduate, I look at it first.
