What is the Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)?

The CRC is based on the ACT WorkKeys system, a nationally recognized, EEOC-compliant industry-driven system of job profiling, assessment and instructional support.

How can I obtain a CRC?

Visit a Rowan-Cabarrus employability lab.

What does the CRC cost?

The WorkKeys tests are administered at a cost of $30 for all three tests: reading for information, applied mathematics, and locating information. You may qualify for a scholarship to cover the costs. The instructor in the employability lab will assist you in the process.

What does it cost to attend the employability lab?

Your first visit to the employability lab to receive more information is at no cost to you.

How do I make an appointment to visit the employability lab?

No appointment is necessary. Just drop into one of the locations and times that are located on the website.

What if I need help preparing for the WorkKeys tests so that I may earn a CRC?

You can receive the help you need in the employability lab. Once you have enrolled in the program, you may get assistance in the employability lab classroom, or you may study via the internet from your choice location. All unemployed and some employed students receive a tuition waiver for tutoring to prepare to take the WorkKeys tests. Your first informational visit to the employability lab is always at no cost to you. At that time the instructor will determine if you will receive a tuition waiver. On that first visit you are under no obligation to enroll in the coursework. This first visit is a time for you to ask questions and receive information.
