SGA President 2022-23

Gabrielle Brown

A Rowan County native, Brown graduated from high school in Spring 2021 with the Rowan County Homeschool Association. Currently pursuing an Associate in Arts degree at Rowan-Cabarrus, she plans to graduate in Spring 2023 and transfer to a four-year university to pursue a degree in Political Science and Pre-Law studies, with a long-term goal of attending law school and becoming an attorney.

At Rowan-Cabarrus, Brown chose to pursue the opportunities provided by Student Life and Leadership to enjoy all that the college had to offer, including making new friends, connecting with faculty and staff, and learning how to be an effective leader. Brown also is a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society member.

As Student Government Association (SGA) President, Brown hopes to advocate for her fellow students by connecting them with the resources they need to be able to achieve their goals and give back to their communities. Her lifelong struggle with anxiety has inspired her passionate advocacy for mental health and a supportive community. She hopes to continue cultivating the community provided by Student Life and educating students about the mental health resources available to them at Rowan-Cabarrus.

“Rowan-Cabarrus has given me the community and support I need to handle life’s pressures and responsibilities and enjoy my college experience in more ways than I would have thought possible,” Brown said. “I am excited to be a part of giving that experience back to my fellow students.” As SGA President, Brown hopes to connect with her fellow students, advocate for the student body, and inspire others to do the same.

There is more to life than books and classes at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. What goes on outside the classroom is also very important. The school offers a wide variety of social and cultural opportunities which, as well as being enjoyable, also expand the learning experience. Students are encouraged to plan their own activities and programs through the Student Government Association and may use any of our excellent facilities for assembly, theater, club meetings, relaxation, and recreation.

The constitution and the activities of the SGA are subject to the approval of the administration of the college.
